Completed a semester-long internship as part of my Bachelor’s degree in Informatics and Computing Engineering at FEUP. Worked full-time, on-site, at Armis Group in Porto, contributing to the security and architecture of a real-world web application.
Main responsibilities and achievements:
Designed and implemented a Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system for the YLECTRON web application — a platform used for energy consumption monitoring and fault detection.
Developed both backend and frontend components of the system using .NET (C#) and Angular, ensuring seamless integration with the existing architecture.
Collaborated with the company’s technical lead in weekly meetings, following an iterative development approach using Azure DevOps, Swagger, and DataGrip.
Integrated the solution with the production environment, ensuring flexible role/permission assignment and secure access control management.
Received recognition for the technical quality and impact of the work from both Armis Group and the academic committee.
This internship strengthened my skills in secure software development, full-stack architecture, and enterprise-grade system design — and gave me hands-on experience working in a professional software engineering environment.
